Responsibilities
Experience with public works capital improvement construction management.
Responsible for construction management and administration of public works capital improvement project, including all administrative, technical, fiscal, and schedule controls and tools.
Independently performs a variety of assignments.
Capable of providing applicable engineering analysis, evaluation, and resolution of specific civil engineering related issues.
Capable of analyzing and recommending responsible alternatives and solutions.
Knowledge and experience with industry and technical standards and means & methods for public works construction.
Independently resolve onsite issues and coordinate with contractors for project compliance.
Manage the Lane Closure System (LCS) effectively.
Prepare detailed documentation, including daily diaries and quantity sheets.
Coordinate material testing and construction staking services.
Ensure Compliance with Caltrans procedure and safety protocols.
Track project budget.

Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, Construction Management or other related field.
10+ years’ experience in engineering and managing complex multidisciplinary heavy civil projects
Current CA Engineering License in applicable field of work
Skilled in technical writing, communicating, and presenting to clients and the public
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Computer literate with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
QSP or QSD certification and experience, Quality spread differential (QSD)
Highly motivated to successfully interact with clients, the public, and team members
Must be able to pass a background check
Must be legally able to work in the United States of America
Must have a valid Driver’s License
Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30-Hr Safety certification prior to start of work.
Ability to work autonomously and make decisions in a dynamic environment
Proficiency in Caltrans specifications, LCS, and safety measures
Strong skills in documentation and record keeping
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Experience with CAD is helpful
