Responsibilities
Develop and manage materials engineering foundation documents and update to prevent issue recurrence including Material and Performance Specifications, Approved Source List (ASL), and Ford Laboratory Test Methods (FLTMs).
Provide root cause analysis, materials, and process expertise to support resolution for manufacturing and field issues, collaborating with Engineering, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Program Vehicle Team (PVT), Purchasing, and Research.
Support manufacturing site assessments, process development, and issue resolution.
Collaborate with core engineering functions to develop/update test methods for improved field correlation and prevent recurrence.
Support material cost reduction initiatives.

Required
Complete proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Possess strong leadership skills, self-motivated and self-driven
Technically focused internships and/or cooperative assignments in the sheet metal industry
Bachelor of Science in Materials Science & Engineering, Materials Engineering or Chemical Engineering with an emphasis in metals
Preferred
Experience working with complex data sets, and ability to calculate and draw statistical conclusions
Knowledge of automotive test methods and good laboratory practices
1-2 years exp in sheet metal related work (mills, stamping, engineering, research, etc.)
