Responsibilities
Assisting with general legal affairs of the organization;
Assisting the Copyright Alliance policy team with drafting and/or editing policy documents and briefs the Copyright Alliance submits to Congress, the Copyright Office and federal agencies and courts;
Monitoring and reporting on legislative, regulatory, and industry events and developments;
Contributing to the Copyright Alliance blog and newsletter;
Providing individual creators with copyright information

Required
Pursuing J.D. degree
At least one copyright course completed or, at minimum, an IP survey course with a section on copyright law. Students who will be taking a copyright law course or IP survey course concurrently with the internship may also be considered. (Preference will be given to students who have completed a copyright law course prior to the start of the internship.)
Must be 2L, 3L or LLM Student
Strong research and writing skills – including both legal writing and the ability to write on complex legal topics for a general audience
Remote applicants may be considered, but preference will be given to students who are able to commute to the Copyright Alliance D.C. office & local events during internship hours if necessary
The internship is unpaid
Interns are expected to work 120 hours per semester (approx. 10 hours per week) in exchange for two (2) credits
