Responsibilities
Develops and designs courses and curriculum.
Edits and develops online learning materials.
Creates learning experiences and environments.
Designs learning activities, assignments, and assessments.
Creates computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards.
Develops instructor’s manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools.
Collaborates with subject experts to develop course content.
Manages online learning communities.
Analyzes, updates, and refines existing online content.
Trains instructors, students, and employees on how to use learning technologies.
Facilitates discussion and collaboration via social media.
Keeps current on best practices in instructional design.
Writes scripts for video and audio content.
Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users.

Required
Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment
Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS)
Understanding of website design best practices
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Experience with design platforms, such as InDesign
Familiarity with course management systems, such as Blackboard
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients
Critical thinking skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
BS, MS, or higher degree in instructional design, education, or related field
Experience as a classroom instructor
Previous experience in instructional design
Strong knowledge of e-learning authoring tools, learning management systems, and multimedia software is highly desired
Excellent verbal and written English language skills and good public relations, public speaking, and customer service skills are required
Ability to read, interpret, understand, and explain documents such as sales processes, product specifications, or warranty manuals
Ability to effectively present information to others, gather information from others and respond appropriately to questions from customers, coworkers, and managers
Must display excellent phone and email etiquette
Must present an appropriate attitude when interacting with customers or coworkers
Must be a team player and strongly desire to learn and promote self-growth
Must be proactive, self-disciplined, self-motivated, and demonstrate the ability to follow projects through to completion
Attention to detail is required
Must demonstrate organizational skills, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Employees, coworkers, and managers must develop trust, respect, and confidence
Must present a clean and neat physical appearance and represent the brand well
Preferred
Teaching or administrator’s license a plus
Travel to other Pella locations
