Responsibilities
Provide guidance to ensure correct and uniform implementation of pension benefits and disability benefits.
Prepare and review requests for proposals, contracts, memoranda, briefs, administrative rules, business rules, correspondence, and other materials.
Review and draft legislation and administrative rules.
Review, advise, and draft agency decisions in employer and member appeals.
Represent IPERS in administrative and state court proceedings.
Review, research, and make recommendations regarding active participation in securities litigation.
Review court orders, qualified domestic relations orders, child support orders, tax levies, and respond to subpoenas and FOIA requests.
Ensure all forms and publications are compliant with laws and rules.

Required
Graduation from an accredited law school
Equivalent of five years of full-time successful and responsible experience in the practice of law
Admission to the Iowa State Bar
