Responsibilities

Execute customer/user experience (CX/UX) strategies and create engaging products.

Manage CX/UX related planning, prioritization, and decision making.

Advocate for broader CX/UX activities and lead design sessions.

Translate user needs into concepts, personas, user journeys, information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and visual design prototypes.

Conduct and synthesize user research and usability testing to improve products iteratively.

Collaborate with key stakeholders to articulate the CX vision and ensure compliance with DHS guidelines.

Develop and implement design patterns and information architecture adhering to DHS brand guidelines.

Ensure front-end design and development work is Section 508 compliant for accessibility.

Implement U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) in all products.

Drive a plain language content strategy for an easy-to-understand user experience.

Required

Must be able to pass DHS Background check (Basic eligibility requirements include: U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history, no recent or pending bankruptcies).

Must have 5+ years of relevant experience.

Must have hands-on and theoretical experience with Agile framework or Agile software delivery.

Hands-on experience with web design.

Hands-on experience with mobile development design.

Must be proficient in human-centered design, change management, be proficient in the latest CX/UX methods and technology trends.

Must have hands-on experience with the following languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Must have hands-on experience with digital programming tools.

Must have experience translating user needs into concepts, personas, user journeys, information architecture, user flows, wireframes and visual design prototypes using tools such as Figma, Mural, and Optimal Workshop.

Must be willing and able to participate in an oral presentation preparation and code challenge.
