Responsibilities

Build and maintain best-in-class, scalable mission critical services that are consumed by both external customers and internal services

Work in a hybrid data engineering and API engineer capacity, bringing learnings and software best practices to both areas of development

Identify and assist in implementing ways to improve the team's productivity and efficiency by expanding on existing tools and processes

Provide timely technical support to external and internal customers

Advocate for code quality by writing thorough tests, conducting code reviews, creating robust documentation, and evangelizing development best practices to the team

Collaborate to design and build application infrastructure (using Terraform and AWS)

Bring innovative ideas and new technologies to the table when working through challenging problems

Required

Experience with Python and SQL (dbt, Golang, or Java are a plus!)

Experience working with structured and semi-structured datasets

Experience implementing complex, real-time, data extraction solutions (ETL/ELT)

Experience with at least one type of database technology

Experience building secure microservices utilizing public cloud technologies (we use AWS)

Containerization experience (we use Docker and ECS)

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (we use Terraform)

Experience collaborating with engineers to build scalable, performant and secure systems

The ability to communicate core concepts to non-technical audiences (through both verbal and written communication)

The desire to work on a collaborative, learning oriented team

A strong track record of problem solving and a 'roll up your sleeves' mentality

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate core concepts to non-technical audiences

Preferred

Experience with Golang or Java

Experience with Terraform

Experience with Docker and ECS

Experience with Infrastructure as Code

Experience with public cloud technologies (AWS)
