Responsibilities
Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data of low, medium and high voltage electrical systems.
Instrument transformer tests.
Execute power transformer testing - Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.
Test both electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
Perform cable testing - Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hi-Pot.
Automatic transfer switch troubleshooting.
Conduct Low, Medium and High voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing.
Perform functional verifications of control circuits for switchgear and substation equipment.
Develop detailed test and/or commissioning plans as necessary for defined scopes.
Support moderately complex relay calibration and power metering.
Read, Interpret, and follow technical drawings, schematics, and written work instructions/procedures as required.
Support the Field Services team on shut-down, startup and maintenance projects.
Occasionally interact with customers to gather critical information and review engineering plans.
Have a thorough understanding of safe work practices in the electrical industry.
Operate company vehicles safely and within company policy.

Required
An associate’s degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or a EE Degree from an ABET accredited college is preferred.
Prefer educational focus in Power Systems studies, with knowledge of low, medium and high voltage up to 500 kV.
NETA Certification (II, III or IV) or similar desired or Electrician license preferred.
Previous experience performing switchgear testing & troubleshooting, relay testing, substation. design/commissioning and/or NETA testing/maintenance preferred.
Must have good PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with reading, interpreting, and following technical drawings, schematics, and written work instructions/procedures.
Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.
Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods, and effectively communicate directly to customers and co-workers.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests and a pre-employment criminal background check.
Must be willing to travel; minimum 50%.
Must be able to drive daily to customer job sites and be available for periodic overnight travel.
Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays and nights.
Must be able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 100 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.
Valid and current driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred
Experience utilizing Power DB, SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EZPower, or other power system modeling software is a plus.
OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training is preferred.
Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash and power quality studies is preferred.
TWIC card a plus.
