Responsibilities
Support day-to-day operations focused on communications with threat actors involved in ransomware or other extortion matters.
Engage with threat actors and negotiate for proof of ability to decrypt, proof of exfiltration of data, and reduction of monetary ransom demands.
Work with leads and incident response analysts to collect and package data for due diligence review and approval prior to ransom payment facilitation.
Collect, concatenate, and disseminate intelligence based on threat actor and threat group tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Apply specific functional knowledge and working and general industry knowledge.
Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Work independently with some guidance and review or guide activities of junior employees.

Required
Experience performing ransomware negotiations, or in law enforcement with national and transnational criminal organizations, cyber-crime, hostage negotiations, or human intelligence
Knowledge of various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or Mac OSX
Knowledge of cyber threats
Ability to research and report on emerging trends
Ability to use Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience with threat actor or law enforcement negotiations or Master's degree and 1+ years of experience with threat actor or law enforcement negotiations
Preferred
Knowledge of crypto currency transactions, currency exchanges and wallet tracing
Knowledge of network protocols and utilizing anonymity including non-attributable techniques
Ability to work non-standard hours and work an on-call schedule
Ability to proactively and dynamically drive the threat actor (TA) communications process
Ability to work closely with the other teams to develop appropriate and timely communication strategy
Ability to perform TA communications and negotiations using a variety of communications platforms such as Tor, email, Tox, or Jabber
Ability to proactively develop actionable intelligence on TA groups including attribution and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) using industry leading tools and other critical resources
Ability to maintain compliance with OFAC, OFSI, EU, and UN sanctions through rigorous due diligence review
Possession of excellent problem-solving and client interaction skills
Cybersecurity specialty certification such as SANS or IACIS
