Responsibilities

Supporting the team on key upcoming events/editorial campaigns by identifying, researching and drafting content, brainstorming and piloting new storytelling formats, creating and editing infographics and social videos.

Supporting the team with Artificial Intelligence-related experimentation for communications by undertaking research on various functionalities, identifying areas for experimentation and innovation, participating in research on AI for good, liaising with DCO’s AI Lab and country teams, making recommendations on new tools and practices to test.

Supporting the team with additional knowledge management and digital communications by developing and maintaining a stories and digital content repository, contributing to website restructuring and quality assurance, monitoring website and social media usage, undertaking events coverage, maintaining media and subscription mailing lists, updating social media inventories.

Required

Enrolled in a graduate school programme in journalism, communication, media studies, digital communications, filmmaking, international relations or related field (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) OR enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme in related field OR have graduated with a university degree in related field and must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation

Strong writing skills in English

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator), design and email marketing platforms such as Bee pro, Canva, Mailchimp

Computer literate in standard software applications and content management systems (Drupal 10)

Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter

Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs

Fluency in English
