Responsibilities

Machine-Learning Development: Direct the end-to-end development lifecycle of AI models and the Data Science platform. Provide hands-on model development expertise. Champion a customer-centric approach to solution development, ensuring that Itemize AI solutions meet customer needs and deliver measurable value and ROI. Ensure seamless deployment of updates and improvements while adhering to production schedules

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing Information Science team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Align strategies with overall company goals to enhance product capabilities

Operational Excellence: Drive a production shop mentality within the team, emphasizing rigorous testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Implement best practices in data management, model development, and deployment processes to ensure robustness and reliability

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Application Development, Product Management, Sales, and Marketing teams to integrate data-driven insights into product features, marketing strategies, and sales initiatives

Performance Measurement: Implement robust metrics and analytics frameworks to measure product performance and optimize for scalability, reliability, and performance

Innovation and Research: Drive innovation through continuous research and development efforts, staying ahead of industry trends and technological advancements

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD) preferred

Minimum of 8 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a SaaS or technology-driven company

Expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data technologies, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)

Experience and demonstrable knowledge of Deep Learning concepts and in applying suitable modeling approaches. Understand how components and processes work together and communicate with each other using library calls, REST APIs queueing/messaging systems, and database queries

Experience with PyTorch, NLTK, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, Numpy, OpenCV or equivalent for image preprocessing

Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, drive consensus, and deliver results under tight deadlines

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
