Regulatory Financial Analyst II

Responsibilities
Manage regulatory filings, audits, and/or special projects. Plan and review the filing and discovery process of assigned cases.
Serve as a primary point of contact for regulatory agencies including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and various state Public Service Commissions.
Represent the company's best interests through clear communication of policy positions. Interpret and relay feedback information from regulators to stakeholders within the company.
Provide accounting, tax, financial, economic and other quantitative and qualitative analyses of regulatory matters. Prepare associated reports of analyses to provide guidance and advice on complex regulatory issues.
Develop the Cost of Service and revenue requirement of the company to allow for recovery of costs while maximizing earnings and returns of the business units.
Provide functional direction, leadership, and instruction to others within the department or on project teams demonstrating judgment and communications skills.
Testify and prepare testimony as a subject matter expert for regulatory proceedings.
Ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and timeliness in all regulatory filings and applications submitted to state and federal regulatory authorities.
Provide input and make recommendations to develop, monitor, and maintain cost competitive rate structures while maximizing earnings and returns of the business unit.
Support business development efforts for existing business units and new lines of business, including regulatory evaluation, assessment, and strategy recommendations.
Monitor and report on general regulatory developments and competitive business issues within the energy industry.

Required
A four-year degree in finance, economics, accounting or a related field is required.
Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills are essential.
Three to five years of experience is required performing quantitative and analytical work in a regulated energy business environment.
Demonstrated case / project management skills
Demonstrated effective communication skills
Ability to work well independently as well as lead or participate as a team member in a team setting
Ability to manage, organize and lead cross organization teams
Demonstrated effective relationship building skills
High personal standards of commitment and integrity
