Responsibilities

System Analysis: Assist in analyzing system issues and workflows, research and data gathering, modification requests, implementing system modifications, expanding knowledge of existing user workflows, performing testing, applying user security, importing/exporting data, and creating reports.
Problem Identification and Resolution: Assist in resolving daily problems, testing, and correcting system errors.
System Management: Complete assignments for upgrades and enhancements, stay current on vendor offerings, and features/functions that meet customer/organizations' needs.
Project Coordination: Review, document issues, barriers, risks, provide project/task coordination services, participate in development sessions, manage workload, balance quality with deadlines, control project costs, suggest improvements, meet deadlines, and participate in post-implementation reviews.
Team Building: Participate in training, professional development, departmental teams, travel to remote sites, exhibit objectivity and openness, offer assistance and support, contribute to building positive team spirit, balance team and individual responsibilities, work cooperatively in group problem-solving situations, and encourage peers to seek innovative approaches.
Training & Education: Provide training for adult learners, assess staff readiness in system use, and provide end-user systems support.
Adhere to established policies, accept on-call responsibilities, respond to calls or on-site requests as defined by Department Policy.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, computer science, business or informatics related field OR four (4) years’ experience working with business, clinical or administrative applications required
Additional certification in support of the responsibilities of the position, which will be provided by WVUHS Information Technology. Certification completion will be required within four months of formal certification training completion
Internal employees must meet all mandatory competencies in current position in order to qualify for promotion within IT
West Virginia state and Federal criminal background check required for DHHR WV CARES regulated area
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
Ability to work well under high-stress conditions
Ability to work independently or cooperatively as a team member
Ability to adapt to various workloads and assignments
Ability to work with multi-disciplinary groups
Must have reading and comprehension ability
Must be able to type
Possess good oral and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks
Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Must be flexible
