Responsibilities
Develop applications to agreed upon specifications. Develop fully functional web applications and resources adhering to project specifications, development standards, and requested user experience. Responsible for the full application development life cycle.
Write specifications for new functionalities of existing applications and new applications that will provide users with the ability to produce reports, update data through interactive screens, and batch processes as required to meet the needs of the users.
Participate in strategic sessions for specifications and requirements with departmental administrators. Set practical and reachable goals that are satisfactory to the department and strategic partners. Maintain good communication with departmental staff and have a good understanding of why projects are required.
Provide guidance and technical support to administrators, faculty, and staff.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualification

Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of relevant experience in the development of web and database applications using Java.
Three years of relevant experience in ETL processes using PL/SQL.
Experience with SQL database technologies (Oracle), syntax, and principles.
Experience with leveraging application programming interfaces (APIs) to support and enhance applications.
Preferred
Experience with Learning Management Systems, such as Canvas, Sakai, Blackboard, or Moodle.
Understanding of learning application standards such as IMS Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI).
Experience in a UNIX environment using and configuring open source software programs, such as Tomcat, Apache, and error logs. Experience with web-oriented programming with knowledge of JSP, Javascript, and CSS. Experience with software prototyping, development cycles and design patterns is preferred.
Experience with Github/Gitlab version control system.
Experience with Bamboo for builds and deployment.
