Lead UX Prototyping Design Engineer

Responsibilities
Collaborate with designers and UX researchers to understand their vision and bring it to life through prototyping
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of prototypes into final designs
Craft visions and concepts in code for a variety of mediums (GUI Application, 3D Graphics, AR/VR) and modalities (touchscreen, voice, gesture, sensors etc)
Conceptualize and build realistic prototypes for user testing and evaluation, including instrumentation or other interaction measurement features
Maintain a high level of quality and consistency in all prototypes
Act as a mentor and resource for junior developers and prototypers, providing guidance and support
Embrace a collaborative and team-oriented work culture to achieve project goals

Required
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
At least 10 years of experience developing for highly sophisticated systems (or Masters plus 8 years)
Deep understanding of engineering fundamentals
Highly proficient 3D CAD skills (Solidworks)
Skilled in selecting prototyping and fabrication technologies to bring prototypes to life to meet different business needs (quick POC to 'looks like, works like' for user testing)
Demonstrated ability in plastic, sheet metal, and CNC part design
Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Preferred
Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
Passion for building systems that incorporate new user interface solutions to improve UX
Skilled in GD&T and statistical tolerance analysis techniques
Understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex mechanical system
