Responsibilities
Develop project scopes, one line diagrams, and estimates for substation projects
Review substation construction drawings for compliance with codes and standards
Engineer lightning protection, grounding, and equipment replacement for substations
Make corrections to drawings and documentation
Verify proper use of equipment and material according to standards
Travel to project sites for information gathering
Function as a project lead for substation projects
Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities of others
Provide training and guidance to lower level employees
Identify and initiate corrective action when project objectives are not met
Interpret codes and regulations, develop standards for construction projects
Promote engineering professionalism and standards
Develop, recommend, and implement plans for complex engineering projects
Occasional site visits required

Required
Five to eight years of experience in utilities working with protection and controls
Five to eight years of experience completing engineering projects from start to finish
Five to eight years of experience setting relays and designing one line diagrams
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET)
A PE License is required.
Preferred
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET) will count toward years’ experience
