Responsibilities
Work on test and characterization of materials in a laboratory setting.
Use fundamental materials engineering principles to design test setups to measure properties (mechanical, optical, chemical, and physical) of materials.
Prepare sample coupons for testing.
Work with vendors/suppliers for sample, part collection for testing when needed.
Work cross-functionally with engineers to design innovative characterization techniques when needed.
Analysis of test data (use of statistical tools; JMP preferred).
Documentation of results and report out.
Present findings to materials engineers and help interpret experimental results.
Work with vendors to commission new laboratory equipment.
Work with vendors to maintain and upgrade existing laboratory equipment.

Ability to test, verify, analyze, and report out the broad spectrum of materials to consumer products at scale
