Responsibilities

Design innovative new products, including part geometry, assembly design, and drawing generation.

Work with the Engineering team to drive design and development activities within budget and timelines.

Develop and analyze engineering data, support team meetings, and look for process improvement opportunities.

Collaborate with vendors for prototype production, generate CAD drawings, and ensure designs are optimized for cost and quality.

Coordinate with Quality, Purchasing, and Production departments to resolve product issues.

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electromechanical, or other technical/analytical field (or offsetting experience)

Experienced in 2D, 3D CAD software (SolidWorks)

Passion for design, whether it be professional, or hobby based

2-3 years' work experience in product development

Preferred

4+ years' work experience

Basic knowledge of castings (die and investment), forgings, plastic injection moldings, extrusions, machining, heat sink design, sheet metal, surface treatments (powder coating, painting, plating), stamping, drawing

Basic knowledge of UL and CSA standards and the NEC

Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring

Awareness of light sources and LED Technologies, including LEDs, COBs, PCBs, Drivers, Control Systems, thermal management (simulation and testing)

Previous ERP software experience, specifically Syteline
