Responsibilities

Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to drive user growth and retention

Participate in new feature and automation development, write unit tests, and deliver high-quality engineering results

Collaborate on product and engineering specs, leveraging feedback to iterate on the core insurance shopping product

Monitor software errors and alerts, maintain documentation, and be a trusted expert on products and systems

Contribute across the product stack, evolve the tech stack, and ensure codebase integrity

Required

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science or related field

2+ years of production software engineering experience in consumer applications

Hands-on coding experience using Typescript/Javascript, Java, Python, C, C++, C#, or Golang

Sound understanding of data structures and algorithms, operating systems, databases and networking fundamentals

Ability to work flexibly in a variety of development environments and technologies

Solid understanding of performance implications and scalability of code

Keenness for writing good, meaningful tests and maintaining thorough test coverage
