Responsibilities

Visualize ideas using professional design tools and other necessary tools for ideation

Initiate and respond to ideas for innovation and improvements based on research and analysis

Identify user needs and business requirements

Ensure digital customer touchpoints align with United's user experience and brand standards

Develop intuitive, usable, and engaging interactions

Drive the design of navigation schemes, patterns, components, and templates for a consistent customer experience

Create low and high fidelity interactive prototypes through a collaborative process

Design test plans and iterate designs based on usability research findings

Create final design deliverables including process flows, wireframes, storyboards, and mockups

Present design work for review and feedback from various stakeholders

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business partners throughout the design process

Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders to synthesize design project progress and feedback

Respond to questions during implementation phase and work with QA for bug fixes

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers

Required

BA/BS or equivalent work experience required

Solid grasp of web design principles and a good understanding of front-end web technologies required

Excellent understanding of user experience design for the Web, mobile, and touch devices required

Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with minimal supervision required

Experience in writing detailed design specifications (IA, work flow, page functionality and layout, etc.), which technology developers use to build the product required

Must be a self-starter that can create schedules and define scope of work even when there are no clear requirements and direction required

Strong ability to communicate your design, defend your design decisions, and respond quickly to business needs required

Proven ability to set the design direction for your projects and to collaborate with other designers working in the space required

A team player who can easily adapt in a rapidly changing environment required

5+ years professional UX design experience required

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications

Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
