Responsibilities
Manage SWD’s Capital Asset Maintenance Program (CAMP) projects and provide general engineering services to support the operations of Cedar Hills Regional Landfill and eight Recycling and Transfer stations.
Review engineering reports and design documents prepared by consultants to work on facility design development.
Work with Operations to prioritize assets based on risk assessments, identify preventive maintenance requirements, identify assets that require intervention, recommend corrective measures to be accomplished and changes or improvement.
Managing engineering consultants and construction contractors including developing scope of work for consultant and construction contracts.
Assist with the implementation of Asset Management Program.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, architecture, or closely related field OR the equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated expertise of at least three (3) years in analyzing, reviewing and entry level design of various technical civil, structural, mechanical, engineering elements independently or with little oversight
Demonstrated construction management experience related to facility projects including site inspections, invoice payment processing, change order management, contract administration and closeouts of public work contracts
Demonstrated experience as an effective communicator in oral and written formats with diverse groups of professionals, co-workers, and the general public
Working knowledge using Microsoft (MS) Project to develop schedules for public works projects; intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, MS-Word, and basic working knowledge using MS PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively across department lines and with senior-level managers, supervisors, technical leads, and operations staff
Ability to work effectively in a rapidly evolving work environment that requires multi-tasking, planning and organizing work on a daily basis, responding to changing priorities and tight deadlines, and grasping and responding to complex issues quickly
