Responsibilities
Coordinate onsite surveys with operations team.
Prepare fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD based on both site surveys and architectural prints.
Calculate, design, and coordinate a project from beginning to end.
Submit drawings and track the review processes with multiple AHJ’s.
Coordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractors.
Modify and/or create processes to ensure consistent production and document control.
Assist superintendents and field personnel on system and code applications.
Assist sales department with system configuration, take-offs, specification review, and code applications for estimating projects.
Maintain project drawing files and records.
Participate in design turnover and bid review meetings.

Required
High School diploma or GED is required
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Fire Alarm system design and Auto CAD
Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC
Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environment
Strong customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred
Construction experience is a plus
APS State of TX or NICET III preferred
