Responsibilities
Drive customer-focused manufacturing quality improvement projects
Implement and assure compliance with quality standards at assigned plants
Prepare advanced quality planning documents and participate in quality planning activities
Develop PDCA improvement plans based on key metrics data
Provide quality engineering expertise and drive corrective and preventive actions
Work closely with plant quality managers to manage engineering changes and process improvements
Deliver results measured by key metrics such as defect rates, cost of quality, and corrective action closure
Develop employee training programs to build quality awareness
Participate in audits by Amazon, Costco, and third-party organizations

Required
1-3 years related experience in a Quality Engineer role in the automotive industry or working with automotive customers
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering
Strong data analysis, problem solving and project management skills
Thorough understanding of metrology, statistics and statistical methods including SPC
Good working knowledge of FMEAs PPAP, APQP and Calibration, Six sigma certification
Effective oral and written communication skills in a strong team-based environment
Able to manage multiple complex situations daily and deal with rapidly changing priorities
Demonstrated ability and proficiency with use of information technology (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio, SharePoint and statistical analysis software)
Certification by ASQ as a CQE, CQA or CQM considered highly desirable
Travel - up to 50%
Preferred
Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering degree
