Responsibilities
Strategize database capacity planning, optimizing compute and storage requirements based on usage trends.
Monitor and enhance the performance of information and database systems.
Architect and implement highly available cloud-based database systems.
Develop and enforce disaster recovery and data archiving protocols.
Implement robust database security measures and necessary network controls.
Lead migrations from on-premises to cloud and between cloud platforms with minimal disruption.
Establish standardized configurations and parameters for all database platforms.
Execute production server migrations and CI/CD scripts with minimal downtime.
Deploy and configure cloud database solutions aligned with technical and business requirements.
Implement comprehensive monitoring for database performance, faults, and security in AWS.
Manage testing and QA environments and resolve complex data-related issues.
Produce thorough documentation including design specifications and integration details.

Required
Strong expertise in AWS cloud computing architecture, design principles, and best practices.
5+ years of experience building and managing secure, highly available cloud database solutions.
Extensive DBA experience across SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle, including migration projects.
Proficiency in database security best practices, backup, and recovery strategies.
Hands-on experience with AWS Aurora, CloudWatch, IAM configurations, and operational best practices.
Proficient in SQL and Python scripting, with familiarity in Terraform.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Experience with CI/CD tools, Liquibase, Snowflake, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, AWS DMS, and SSIS.
