Responsibilities

Download and curate periodically sequence and metadata from pathogen databases

Create and manage internal sequence databases

Extract and generate metadata for machine learning

Develop pipelines and web-based interfaces for data processing

Communicate with stakeholders to summarize data

Required

MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or closely-related discipline.

Experience in sequence (amino acids and nucleotides) analysis is required.

Experience in meta-data analyses is required.

Experience in data cleaning is required.

Experience in working with AWS or other cloud-based computing is required.

Experience in database creation and management is required.

Experience in interfacing with Genbank, GISAID, and similar databases is required.

Experience in Python or other scripting languages is required.

Highly flexible and adaptable individual able to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication, scientific writing, and presentation skills.

Ability to put together a convincing business case.

Preferred

Experience in variant tracking (e.g. influenza or SARS-CoV-2) is highly desired.

Experience in web-based interface is highly desired.

Experience in phylogeny or phylodynamics analyses is highly desired.
