Responsibilities

Communicate and collaborate with various teams within storage engineering to develop solutions for the enterprise-level storage environment.

Drive storage vendors for product improvement and delivery as per the product development life cycle process.

Work with the storage development team to create development requirements focusing on automation, performance management, and inventory management.

Enable cloud solutions for business partners by understanding storage requirements and providing suitable solutions in external and internal cloud environments.

Operate within an enterprise-level storage environment and have experience with specific block storage and data protection products.

Follow and deliver Product Development Life Cycle documentation for product evaluation and certification.

Possess skills in operating systems, network stack tuning, and performance profiling.

Understand and apply DevOps tools, version control systems, and SRE principles.

Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Adapt to new technologies and contribute to the reliability of services.

Participate in hybrid cloud delivery models, scripting languages, hyperscalers, hypervisors, and other related technologies.

Familiarity with Elastic Search and Kibana.

Required

Currently working within an enterprise-level storage environment

Experienced in Pure Storage FlashArray block storage products and/or in Rubrik r6000 series data protection products

Experienced in Brocade G series fabric switch products

Capability to follow and deliver Product Development Life Cycle type documentation as part of the product evaluation and certification process

Competent in Windows, Linux/UNIX-like operating systems, I/O and network stack tuning and performance profiling

An understanding how to deliver reliable services out of unreliable components

Familiar with DevOps tools and version control systems (SVN, GitLab)

Familiar with SRE principles such as user journeys, SLI/SLO, and synthetic probers

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

Ability to adapt to new technologies

Bachelor's Degree required

Preferred

Experience with engineering and operating a hybrid cloud delivery model with a focus on data coherency between on-prem and off-prem components

Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, Bash or other scripting languages with a focus on testing and sound SDLC practices

Familiarity with hyperscalers (AWS, GCP, and Azure)

Familiarity with hypervisors (ESX)

Beneficial, but not required, experience in block storage (Dell, Hitachi), file (Netapp, Dell Unity), and/or backup solutions (Networker, DataDomain)

Familiarity with Elastic Search and Kibana
