Responsibilities

Develop, automate, and apply computational protein design pipeline for vaccine design.
Predict broadly neutralizing epitopes using computational tools.
Model antigens of interest using computational/machine tools.
Conduct computational experiments in computational structural biology with a focus on innovation.
Stay updated with the latest developments in Computational Structural Biology/Machine Learning.
Act as a subject matter expert in computational structural biology.
Produce high-quality analyses and codebases to enhance team capabilities.
Generate IP and participate in patent filings.
Participate in Project Teams and maintain communication with relevant areas of the company.
Build and maintain a network of experts in computational structural biology and machine learning.
Represent the company at relevant conferences and international forums.

Required

Broad-based scientific training (Ph.D. BioEngineering, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or Master’s degree with equivalent experience)
Experience in computational protein design is required; experience in antigen design is highly desired
Experience in protein-protein affinity calculation is required
Experience in B cell epitope prediction is required
Experience in scripting languages, such as Python/R/PERL, is required
Experience in protein modeling (homology and ML-based) and sequence analyses is required
Experience in molecular dynamics is highly desired
Experience with big data, cloud computing and parallel computing is required
Experience in modeling viral antigens is required
Mastery of fundamentals (e.g., thermodynamics, macromolecule physics, force field design, protein design, essential biochemistry) in protein design
Experience in interfacing with wet-lab experimentalists is required; wet-lab experience is a plus
Strong experience writing and deploying novel algorithms, developing and testing new models
A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data
Asymmetrical thinker who sees patterns of the big picture emerge from the parts. Creative brainstormer, skilled in divergent thinking. Ability to navigate ambiguity and interact effectively with unconventional people and ideas
Highly flexible and adaptable individual able to thrive in a fast pace and ambiguous environment
