Responsibilities
LCA Verifier performs GHG emission reports and carbon intensity (CI) verification projects, in accordance with the regulatory standards and ISO 14064-3:2019 / 14065:2020 and ISO/IEC 17029:2019.
This candidate will be leading verification projects by reviewing and verifying GHG emission reports, Fuel Pathway CI reports, CDR projects, and others to ensure compliance with regulatory, voluntary, and ISO standards. Ensure robust/credible outcomes. Interpret, document, and clearly communicate results of assessments.
Develop methods/assessments to meet verification requirements within business operating parameters of low-carbon fuel producers. Evaluate risk levels, data samples, and compliance systems and plans.
In addition, responsibilities include developing metrics for tracking improvement on LCA assessments and verifications.
Actively contribute to building assessment capability through activities such as evaluation and exploration of new methods, improved project management, better document sampling and record-keeping, deeper industry insights, etc.
Work will also include traveling to perform verification site visits.
The position involves effective communication, decision-making, and time management.
The candidate performs other duties as required or assigned.

Required
2 to 8 years of work experience in the environmental, renewable energy industry with strong analytical and statistical skills required (especially professional experience in GHG emissions reporting, LCA, sustainability, biofuels, carbon footprint management or related field)
B.S. or M.S. degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Geology, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering, Sustainability or other relevant technical degrees from an accredited college required.
Experience in 2 or more of the following: LCFS, CFR, CFP, MRR, Puro.earth, Isometric, The Climate Registry, Verra, The Gold Standard, Green-e, CORSIA, M-RETS, American Carbon Accreditation, ISO 14065, ISO 14064, ISO 9001, ISO 17011, ISO 17065, ISO 17029, or other related ISO experience.
At least 1 year of experience in 1 or more of the following areas: RNG, renewable diesel, ethanol, biodiesel, SAF, biochar, enhanced rock weathering, EV, organic waste projects, CCS, anaerobic digestion, scope 3 emissions, CDR, and VCM.
Skilled in writing technical reports, proven ability to manage complex information, simplify and convey it in easily understood ways.
Self-starter with solid attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing the most pressing and impactful matters.
Ability to be an active team member on project teams towards project completion within project scope, budget and schedule and ensure quality work product and deliverables.
Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently.
The ability to travel is required to support a wide array of projects and clients. Most travel with be within the United States, with the possibility of international travel.
Strong computer skills relevant for data processing and analysis. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software, specifically advanced-level Excel skills.
Effective written/verbal communication.
Enjoys working in a multi-functional team-oriented environment.
Preferred
Experience in handling technical data review and interpretation, developing, adapting, and implementing LCA methodology is preferred.
Understanding current GHG and carbon regulations and calculating GHG inventories using generally accepted calculation methods and LCA models is preferred.
