DOD Skillbridge Diesel Diagnostic Tech

NFI is a company that provides civilian training and work experience for active duty military service members through the DOD SkillBridge program. The Diesel Diagnostic Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical and mechanical issues with tractors and trailers, while also performing preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer-related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows
Performance preventive maintenance on our fleet of tractors & trailers
Perform DOT inspection per FMSCA guidelines
Physically capable to perform all job duties, which includes being able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction, stand or lie for extended periods, and have flexible movement to reach equipment

Required

ONLY ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS MAY APPLY
Must be within 180 days of transition from military service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard)
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship
Open to all qualified transitioning active-duty U.S. service members, both officer and enlisted, of any rank and branch
Must have a valid driver's license
Physically capable to perform all job duties, which includes being able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction, stand or lie for extended periods, and have flexible movement to reach equipment
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer-related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows
Performance preventive maintenance on our fleet of tractors & trailers

Preferred

Preferred ability to obtain a Class B license
General Maintenance Experience
Successfully demonstrated problem-solving skills
Examples of teamwork and customer service skills include good oral and written communication skills
