DOD Skillbridge Diesel Diagnostic Tech

NFI is an approved DOL Registered Apprenticeship and GI BILL Apprenticeship Program, seeking active duty military service members for the Diesel Diagnostic Technician position. The role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical and mechanical issues in tractors and trailers while providing training and work experience for transitioning service members.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer-related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows
Performance preventive maintenance on our fleet of tractors & trailers
Perform DOT inspection per FMSCA guidelines
Physically capable to perform all job duties, which includes being able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction, stand or lie for extended periods, and have flexible movement to reach equipment

Required

Must be within 180 days of transition from military service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard)
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship
Open to all qualified transitioning active-duty U.S. service members, both officer and enlisted, of any rank and branch
Must have a valid driver's license
General Maintenance Experience
Successfully demonstrated problem-solving skills
Examples of teamwork and customer service skills include good oral and written communication skills
Physically capable to perform all job duties, which includes being able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction, stand or lie for extended periods, and have flexible movement to reach equipment

Preferred

Preferred ability to obtain a Class B license

Benefits

NFI is an approved DOL Registered Apprenticeship and GI BILL Apprenticeship Program.
Eligible service members can earn a VA housing allowance of up to $2,000 monthly for up to 18 months.
Service members participating in this DOD SkillBridge program will continue receiving their military compensation and benefits, while NFI provides you with civilian training and work experience.
