Responsibilities

The Esophageal Program Director oversees clinical and managerial leadership, as well as the strategic development of the Motility GI program
The Director collaborates with the Chief, Executive Director, and Rush Medical Group entities to improve system-wide efficiencies
The Esophageal Program Director will lead Rush in becoming a Center of Excellence for esophageal motility disorders and maintaining esophageal health
Physicians participate in both inpatient and outpatient care, with service and call responsibilities integrated into the role
Typical clinical responsibilities include:
5 Endoscopy blocks, each lasting 4 hours
3 Clinic blocks, each lasting 4 hours
Clinic hours are structured as Research & Service
Research funding may be available based on interest and alignment with institutional priorities
Conditions/Symptoms Treated will include Achalasia, Barrett's esophagus, Diffuse esophageal spasm, Dysphagia, Eosinophilic esophagitis, Esophageal cancer, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, Motility disorders, Paraesophageal hernia and Esophageal strictures

Required

Doctorate MD or DO degree
Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine and/or eligible for medical licensure in Illinois
Board certified in Gastroenterology
5-7 years or more experience in Esophageal Gastroenterology practice
