Responsibilities

Design, architect and maintain software applications and software support and debugging

Design, develop, test and integrate custom Java applications, developing innovative, scalable, and secure enterprise custom applications.

Design, develop and maintain MySQL and/or PostgreSQL databases

Use Linux environments and shell scripts for maintenance and debugging

Interface with senior-level customer management and SMEs

Resolve complex design, implementation and/or performance issues.

Work with the Information Security Organization to ensure that developed solutions meet all security requirements.

Support all development and delivery activities, from requirements definition and specification to deployment and delivery to production.

Consult with project teams and end users to identify new requirements; identify areas for improvements.

Assist in identification and evaluation of new/emerging technologies, COTS products, development, and testing tools.

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science or substitute eight years of additional equivalent work experience

8+ years of development experience

4+ years of recent hands-on Java & Spring Boot development experience

3+ years of experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL

Experience with Web applications, REST API development and deployment

Experienced in Microservice design and development

Strong experience in scripting using Linux and other CLI tools

Strong interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with development teams and customers

Preferred

Groovy on Grails experience highly desired

Proficiency with cloud technologies (AWS Strongly preferred)

Experience with Serverless architecture

Experience in applying Agile/Scrum methodology

Working knowledge of at least 1-2 modern JavaScript frameworks, Angular preferred

AWS developer certification
