Responsibilities

Perform job responsibilities in the Mechanical Engineering department under the direction of the Project Lead or a Senior Mechanical Engineer

Performs calculations and reviews the design of pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, and pumps.

Understands or is willing to learn to interpret facility schematic drawings such as PFDs, P&IDs, and Equipment Layout

Prepares material and minor equipment specifications

Prepares minor equipment requisition packages for inquiry and purchase

Review the supplier data to ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications including ASME vessel code and API standards.

Keen safety awareness

Able to perform job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility, this will require the ability to acquire govt. issued TWIC identification.

Required

0 - 3 years of experience with engineering, and design with-in oil and gas production facilities (recent graduate is acceptable)

Willing to locate to the Baton Rouge area

Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required

Excellent oral and written communication skills required

Recognized Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or University required. One remaining semester is acceptable.
