Responsibilities

Join Michigan Department of Treasury’s Business Tax Technical Unit as an Intern!

This internship offers hands-on experience in tax research, analysis, and reporting, working alongside our seasoned tax professionals in the area of Sales, Use, and Withholding Tax, Corporate Income Tax, and Michigan Business Taxes.

Offering opportunities to expand skills and knowledge within an intern’s area of study.

Providing practical, hands-on experience through project assignments and daily tasks.

Fostering connections with industry professionals and peers.

Preparing interns for future careers through training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

Required

Current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution.

The student must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution.

Work must be performed in the state of Michigan.

Selected candidate must have a safe and appropriate designated workspace or workstation for performance of work and secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.

This position is eligible to work remotely on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and must work onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

This position has a FTINPRINT sub-class code. The sub-class code indicates the position has access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and requires passing of a fingerprint-based background check per IRS Publication 1075.
