Responsibilities

Overseeing day-to-day management of a highly skilled team of network engineers and system administrators making sure they have what they need to keep work moving

Work with the internal and external stakeholders to help define priorities and manage work intake

Facilitate discussions across the disparate teams making sure communication is flowing in all directions – no one likes surprises

Technical escalation point for production issues

Capacity Management and budget planning to ensure infrastructure is in place to meet the needs of the business

Prioritizing multiple work streams simultaneously and still meet project deadlines

Being comfortable in front of a whiteboard, marker in hand – you will be pitching ideas and solutions to complex problems, leading brainstorming sessions

Thinking critically to solve complex issues both with a team as well as independently

Capturing metrics to help make decisions based on the data.

Creating detailed Documentation, pictures or it didn’t happen

Customer service skills second to none

Required

A bachelor’s, or higher, degree in a technical field

5 Years of experience managing a team of infrastructure engineers

10 Years of experience supporting infrastructure running production workloads

10 Years of experience working within AWS and Azure cloud environments

10 Years of experience supporting large scale networks and data centers.

10 Years of Experience working in a change-controlled environment – cowboys are for the wild west, professionals plan their work, keep to schedules, and react quickly when needed

Able to work scheduled and on-call rotations (rotation will include weekends and holidays)
