Responsibilities
Review construction plans and permits for contractual requirements and constructability
Ensure that all phases of Engineering and all prerequisites (permitting, construction drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), Purchase Orders (POs), etc.) are tracked, monitored, and controlled ensuring completion
Provide notification when prerequisites are completed, and work can be assigned and transitioned to the next phase of execution
Act as an advisor to the engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations
Manage subcontracted engineering vendor
Monitor project schedules mitigating and/or justifications of schedule deviations
Ensure engineering quality from initiation to closeout and completion
Coordinate with the Client to verify the quantity of work completed and document any deviation from work completed versus values in the BOM
Lead weekly status meetings with Client
Coordinate with other internal and external stakeholders ensuring compliance with project requirements
Provide engineering guidance on the construction of outside plant fiber optics system
Keep current on engineering trends and developments to recommend changes in program or design methods

Required
You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Ensure all aspects of his/her role are executed safely. Always obey safety guidelines
Have 10 years of engineering experience with at least two years of management experience in utility systems or roadway design
Have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Able to review, understand and contribute to project execution plans and schedules
Possess strong teamwork and communication skills
Possess strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
Able to work within a PMO structure organization
Able to manage subcontractors
Had a good understanding of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
