Responsibilities
Guide and develop the Accounting Coordinator, setting clear performance expectations, providing constructive feedback, and supporting their growth.
Prepare and oversee the timely and accurate submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure adherence to GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting standards, including preparing documents for the Board, donors, and regulatory bodies.
Lead the annual financial audit and IRS Form 990 preparation, ensuring compliance with all nonprofit tax filings and regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate records for restricted funds and grants, working closely with program teams to fulfill grant requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and uphold the integrity of our financial information.
Partner with program teams and other departments to ensure accuracy and alignment in financial reporting, supporting GFN's overall mission.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including nonprofit accounting with knowledge of restricted funds and grant compliance.
Proficiency in Excel and MS Office Suite.
Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting standards, including GAAP, and familiarity with systems such as Sage Intacct.
Proven leadership skills to foster a positive work environment, motivate the team, and ensure high-quality results.
Excellent communication skills for explaining financial data, collaborating with diverse teams, and providing clear instructions.
Commitment to cultural competency, respect, and representing GFN's values daily.
Preferred
Experience with financial audits, particularly within nonprofit settings.
