Responsibilities
Give technical presentations for customers, including seminars and workshops.
Conduct on-site product demonstrations, including help with logistics, install and start-up of systems, run samples, and adapt, optimize, or develop protocols to meet customer requirements.
Participate in trade shows as needed.
Help find new sales prospects.
Maintain consistent customer contact for on-going sales of reagents, consumables, support contracts, additional equipment, as well as finding new sales prospects from existing users.
Travel to the customer’s site to set up and verify the operation of LI-COR Biotechnology products.
Provide instrument, protocol and software training to users.
Ensure that the customer is competent and proficient in the use and operation of LI-COR.
Conduct and/or participate in customer training courses.
Take calls from customers and sales personnel and provide technical assistance by email, phone or on-site regarding the application, use, and maintenance of LI-COR Biotechnology instruments, chemistries, reagents, protocols and software.
Provide necessary follow-up and support to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction.
Salesforce Documentation: Demonstration reports completed no later than two weeks after demo.
Install reports/Install Dates in Asset/ training lists completed no later than two weeks after install documented under the Asset.
All activities involving customer interactions (Call/e-mail/trainings/visits) should be documented in Salesforce.
Outreach: Use the platform to proactively schedule appointments with existing customer base, add new customers to post-install sequences no later than two weeks after activity.
Expense Reporting: submit expense reports no later than two weeks after completion of the trip or month.
Gather information about customer needs, suggestions for product improvements, new product ideas, user issues, and competitive activities, for use by LI-COR.

Candidates MUST be located in California or Washington to be considered for this opportunity.
Sponsorship is NOT available for this position.
Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics or related technical discipline with two (2) years Post-Doctoral appointment; or M.S. in disciplines noted above with eight (8) years of industrial or academic experience in a field of direct commercial interest to the Company.
Performed independent research in molecular biology, cellular biology, or protein chemistry; minimum three (3) years of laboratory experience after the degree is preferred.
Excellent aptitude for and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with proteomics and/or infrared imaging instrumentation, computers and software, including analysis software packages or other analytical software used to evaluate and present biological data.
High degree of knowledge in Windows operating system and computer networking required.
Excellent communications (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to teach, train and present technical information in varied situations: one-on-one to large formal meetings.
Able to manage multiple priorities, projects, and tasks.
Exceptional problem-solving ability.
Moderate travel required (50% overnight travel).
Highly developed sense of integrity, ethics and loyalty.
Preferred
Minimum three (3) years of laboratory experience after the degree is preferred.
