Responsibilities

Analyzing and troubleshooting production systems and applications across a broad spectrum of technologies

Primary focus in MS-SQL or Oracle PL/SQL based applications and adjoining systems including web/mobile applications and web services

Assisting with monitoring and responding to reported product issues from internal and external sources

Analyzing complex application, system and infrastructure issues

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and resolve complex application issues, including business partners & various IT entities

Optimizing database queries, stored procedures, and indexing for performance improvements

Modifying application to mitigate defects and proactively reduce system exposure to future incidents

Participating in system testing and validation of production changes

Modifications to database applications utilizing T-SQL, SQL•Server Reporting Services, SQL•Server Integration Services, Power BI, Oracle PL/SQL & Oracle Forms

Familiarize on all production changes being made to the environment and actively offer constructive means to reduce potential impacts from change

Performing other duties as assigned by the Application Support Manager

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems

Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, Visual Studio, Crystal Reports, Oracle PL/SQL & Forms

Knowledge of job scheduler tools including SQL Server Agent & RunDeck

Working knowledge of web/mobile technologies

Experience with enterprise performance monitoring tools in the tradition of Dynatrace

Knowledge of MySQL databases and its procedural language

Experience developing or supporting highly complex database driven transaction processing applications

Coldfusion/CFML web applications and PHP built web portals

Oracle E-Business Suite familiarity

Core competency includes hands-on application support or design/development in an RDBMS database environment

Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server-based applications

Ability to design and generate reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) & data integration and ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

Enterprise database architecture, including procedures, packages, triggers and supporting structures

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Ability to imagine multiple “out of the box” solutions to a problem

Ability to adapt quickly to the current business challenges and technologies

Familiarity with a broad range of enterprise technologies including sFTP, SSL/SSH, networking concepts/components, security protocols, ETL

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
