Responsibilities
Act as a key point of contact for employees, resolving employee concerns, managing conflict, and providing guidance on company policies and procedures
Provide coaching and support to managers on employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigation
Ensure consistent application of company policies and compliance with legal requirements
Support the company’s EEO efforts by ensuring recruitment and employment practices are in alignment with Equal Employment Opportunity law
Conduct outreach efforts to diverse talent pools and support diversity initiatives within recruitment and employee development
Ensure compliance with affirmative action plans and maintain EEO-related records, reports, and documentation
Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Assist in the roll-out and communication of HR policies to employees and managers
Maintain HR policy manuals, ensuring they reflect current legal requirements and best practices
Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring compliance with safety, benefits, and company policy orientation
Assist with training and development programs, ensuring employees are equipped with the necessary skills to perform effectively in their roles
Assist with compensation administration, including job classification, salary benchmarking, and employee compensation inquiries
Support benefits enrollment and questions for employees, ensuring a smooth process and accurate record-keeping
Work closely with Safety and Compliance departments to ensure HR processes are aligned with workplace safety regulations
Assist with OSHA compliance, workplace safety training, and injury reporting processes
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
Provide HR metrics and reports to leadership on turnover, recruitment progress, diversity, and other key HR data
Manage and update employee records in the HRIS (Human Resource Information System)
Maintain employee databases and ensure data accuracy for reporting and compliance purposes
Work closely with hiring managers and field supervisors to ensure staffing needs are met efficiently and effectively
Focus on recruitment for craft positions (e.g., skilled labor, tradesmen, engineers, etc.) and support efforts to build a robust talent pipeline.

Required
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resources, ideally within the construction industry or a similar high-demand, labor-intensive sector.
Experience in recruiting for craft and trade positions, with a strong understanding of skilled labor workforce needs.
Proven expertise in employee relations, including conflict resolution, grievance handling, and performance management.
Experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of EEO laws, affirmative action plans, and diversity and inclusion best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce at all levels.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Solid understanding of federal and state labor laws, including OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour regulations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
Preferred
HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
Experience in the construction industry.
Experience with [specific HRIS platform].
Ability to travel to job sites as needed to support recruitment and employee relations activities.
Travel at least 15% of time.
Physical requirements may include standing, sitting, talking, hearing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and using hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
Close vision abilities required due to computer work.
Light to moderate lifting/carrying of 25 lbs may be required.
Ability to work in a confined area.
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
