Process Instrumentation Technician/Engineer

Responsibilities
Review and interpret P&ID drawings to identify process instrumentation and equipment.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of ISA 20 datasheets for respective instrumentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Conduct detailed inspections of process instrumentation and ensure proper documentation, including calibration data and measurement accuracy.
Apply expertise in ISA 5.1 standard for proper identification and documentation of instrumentation.
Collaborate with engineering and safety teams to ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Information (PSI) requirements for instrumentation.
Assist in selecting and specifying appropriate instrumentation technology based on process needs.
Verify electrical equipment and ensure compliance with Hazardous Area Classification standards.
Provide technical support for troubleshooting and calibration of instrumentation systems.
Utilize advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, to maintain and update instrumentation records

Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation) or a related field or equivalent experience
2-5+ of experience in process instrumentation technician/engineering
Proven experience with ISA 5.1 standard (Instrumentation Symbols and Identification) and ISA 20 datasheet formats.
Strong knowledge of various instrumentation technologies (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level) and their applications.
Experience with calibration and maintenance of instrumentation for accurate measurement.
Familiarity with OSHA PSI requirements and their impact on process instrumentation.
Knowledge of electrical systems and Hazardous Area Classification standards (NEC).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data management and documentation.
Ability to interpret P&ID drawings and technical schematics.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
Experience with process control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) is a plus.
Familiarity with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and functional safety (IEC 61511).
Knowledge of industry regulations and standards (OSHA, ANSI, IEC, etc.)
Certification in Instrumentation and Control (CCST or CAP) is a plus.
