Responsibilities

Develop and maintain standardized desktop images for various hardware models, different departments, and user profiles.

Customize images to include necessary applications, drivers, and configurations.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand specific requirements and tailor images accordingly.

Test, validate, and troubleshoot the standard images.

Maintain an image integrity process with integrity checks during deployments.

Use tools like Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, or other imaging solutions.

Manage operating system patches, security updates, drivers, and software upgrades.

Schedule and execute monthly image updates to maintain security and performance.

Monitor vulnerability reports and address any issues promptly.

Investigate and resolve desktop imaging-related issues reported by end-users.

Troubleshoot driver conflicts, compatibility problems, and installation errors.

Provide timely support during critical incidents.

Maintain detailed documentation on image creation processes, best practices, and troubleshooting steps.

Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to the team’s collective expertise.

Contribute technical knowledge to any Standard Operating Procedure documentation.

Conduct thorough testing of desktop images before deployment.

Validate compatibility with existing applications and peripherals.

Address any issues identified during testing cycles.

Provide image support for new computer models in the environment.

Make recommendations to enhance image management.

Implement image retirement strategies when necessary.

Work closely with IT teams, system administrators, and helpdesk personnel.

Communicate effectively with end-users to gather feedback and address concerns.

Participate in cross-functional projects related to desktop infrastructure.
