Responsibilities

Work on the core of Azure, building and securing the foundation of the cloud itself. Work across Azure to seamlessly integrate our service with partner teams, Azure product offerings, and our customers’ cloud infrastructure.

Mentor and grow developers on the team, create an environment where you and your team can do its best work, and influence and impact others through your results and collaboration.

Develop and execute on a technical strategy for delivering new service capabilities.

Guide the team to build intuitive and responsive user and developer experiences.

Be responsible for technical design, implementation and quality of features and engineering systems.

Interact and collaborate with partner teams to deliver cohesive, easy to use solutions for the Azure platform.

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

2+ years of professional experience leading a team of software engineers as a People Manager or Tech Lead.

3+ years of professional experience building, running and maintaining highly resilient, distributed cloud services.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.

Preferred

Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

6+ years of experience building, running and maintaining highly resilient, distributed cloud services.

Experience designing and building customer facing features for enterprise scenarios.

Experience working across teams and divisions, communicating technical details clearly across organizational boundaries and with a history of building partnerships between groups.

Effective communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Experience in applying microservices, serverless, event-driven, and RESTful architectures and patterns.

Effective problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills, with a data-driven and customer-centric approach.

Experience in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and security vulnerabilities using data-driven analysis and troubleshooting tools.

Experience in applying modern software engineering practices and tools, such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Git, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Unit/Integration/Automation Testing.

A growth mindset, with the willingness to learn new technologies and domains.
