Responsibilities

Counseling clients on effective IP strategy options

Patent procurement activities, including:

Preparation and prosecution of complex patent applications

Prosecuting a global patent portfolio across multiple jurisdictions by instructing foreign patent counsel in the prosecution of foreign counterpart applications

Consulting with inventors, technical experts, and patent portfolio managers

Conduct IP related due diligence for opinions, including patentability, freedom to operate, and infringement and invalidity analyses

Required

Ph.D. or MS in a biology discipline required (e.g., molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, or biotechnology)

4+ years previous IP law experience

Good standing in the bar(s) where licensed to practice law if an attorney

Active USPTO Registration

Superior academic record, excellent written and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and strong analytical abilities

Highly motivated and results-oriented

Superior technical, verbal, and written communication skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and resolve conflicting workload assignments, and adapt to changing conditions
