Responsibilities
Manage and administer Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.) in a large-scale production environment.
Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based operating systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
Perform routine system monitoring, troubleshooting, and patch management.
Handle system upgrades, migrations, and configurations as needed.
Administer, design, and implement databases in a Linux environment (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Oracle, etc.).
Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
Ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of database systems.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to design, optimize, and troubleshoot database applications.
Install, configure, and maintain Database Management Systems (DBMS) across multiple environments.
Develop and maintain automation scripts for system administration tasks, backups, monitoring, and database management.
Automate routine processes for provisioning, patching, and maintenance using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Bash scripting.
Provide input and updates to documentation for procedures, troubleshooting, and system configurations.
Ensure all database and system changes are well-documented and aligned with best practices.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior administrators and team members.
Work closely with development, operations, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration of databases with applications and services.
Provide support for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution for both database and system-related issues.
Contribute to process improvements and suggest best practices for database and system administration.

Required
5 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator, with a strong focus on database administration.
Proven experience with managing databases in a production Linux environment.
Hands-on experience with database backup/recovery, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and common database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, etc.).
Familiarity with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for Linux and databases.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
