Responsibilities
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process vendor invoices and customer payments, ensuring timely and accurate transaction entries
• General Ledger Maintenance: Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete posting processes, including expense reimbursements, bank deposits, and payment allocations
• Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts, credit card statements, and project accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Compliance Support: Ensure that financial records comply with government regulations and accounting standards, supporting audits and inquiries as needed
• Payroll Support: Work with payroll processing to ensure employee payments are accurate and timely, managing any deductions and adjustments as needed
• Expense Tracking: Monitor and manage expense reports, ensuring alignment with company policies and budget requirements
• Recordkeeping and Documentation: Maintain organized, detailed, and easily accessible financial records and support documentation for audits and reporting

Required
Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a government contracting (GovCon) environment
Experience with accounting practices unique to government contracts, such as DCAA compliance, cost accounting, and indirect rate calculations
Experience with QuickBooks, Deltek, or similar accounting software used for government contracting
High degree of accuracy in financial data entry, analysis, and reporting
Ability to reconcile complex accounts and make accurate financial calculations
Strong written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with vendors, team members, and stakeholders
Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
Strong Excel skills, with experience in data analysis and formula use
Preferred
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
Familiarity with accounting for government contracts, understanding of FAR regulations, and experience with cost-plus, fixed-price, and T&M contracts
Bookkeeping certification or coursework in accounting principles is a plus
Experience with federal reporting requirements, such as SF 425, or DCAA compliance is a strong asset
