Responsibilities

Collaborate with clients to bring their product vision to life by conducting research and usability testing with a strong emphasis on accessibility.
Create, execute, and maintain research plans and conversation guides, lead research sessions, analyze and synthesize findings.
Facilitate collaboration among stakeholders, product teams, and users by applying human-centered design methods
Ask great questions to help translate ambiguous requirements into actionable research plans and deliverables.
Support analysis and documentation of product requirements, with a strong focus on deeply understanding the product(s) you support.
Partner closely with designers and developers to adhere to established accessibility standards while proactively contributing to the development of new standards where necessary.
Be a strong voice in presenting ideas, concepts, and design solutions to gain stakeholder buy-in and encourage constructive critique.

Required

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
A bachelor’s degree in any field, or commensurate work experience and certifications
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Information Technology, focusing on user experience research within product development teams.
At least 5 years of this experience should have a demonstrable and strong focus on accessibility.
Excellent understanding and practical experience in Figma, including prototyping and libraries
Excellent understanding and practical experience in Digital Whiteboarding tools such as Mural
Excellent understanding and practical experience in Performing user research and refining business requirements in service of your designs
Excellent understanding and practical experience in Guiding the research process from planning through execution in an independent capacity
Excellent understanding and practical experience in Managing work and documentation in Jira and Confluence
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Agile leads, designers, software developers, testers, business analysts, and product owners in an Agile environment
Self-starter with the ability to work independently to perform on the job
Strong consulting skills and ability to build trust with clients and teammates

Preferred

Prior experience in government contracting, especially at the Department of Veterans Affairs
DHS 508 Trusted Tester certification
