Responsibilities

Design primary and secondary structural framing and connections for building orders.

Stay up-to-date with AISC and AISI material specifications, ASCE 7, IBC, and the MBA Building Systems Manual. Develop proficiency in various local, state, and international building codes.

Create clear, concise, and well-documented engineering designs, ensuring they are easy to understand for both internal teams and customers.

Collaborate with the drafting team to provide shop fabrication and field erection details for engineering designs.

Maintain strong communication with the engineering and drafting teams throughout the design and order process.

Review draft drawings to ensure they accurately reflect the engineer’s design intent.

Make design decisions that balance the economic aspects of field erection versus plant fabrication.

Work towards obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Required

Must have experience designing metal buildings

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

Degree from an ABET-accredited program, qualifying you for future professional licensure.

Preferred

A Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering is a plus.

Professional Engineer licensure is highly preferred.
