Responsibilities
Overseeing accounting activities, including, but not limited to cash receipts, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory
Maintains the subsidiary ledger within accounting system and roll forward schedule
Maintains the Work in Progress (WIP) schedule
Records additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation expense
Reconciles at month-end
Maintains the subsidiary ledger and roll forward schedule
Monitors and records adjustments, additions, disposals, and transfers
Reconciles at month-end
Ensures donations and grant funding are recorded properly
Ensures receivables are recorded properly
Reconciles at month-end
Prepares requests to transfer funds to/from accounts
Distributes donation updates timely
Ensures cash receipts are recorded properly and timely
Reconciles at month-end
Communicates with health centers for variance explanations
Performs payroll transactions export/import processes bi-weekly
Ensures tax notices/tasks are cleared with third-party payroll processing agency
Reconciles at month-end
Communicate with HR for any discrepancies
Preparing reconciliations, variance explanations, and identifying trends/fluctuations for statements of financial position and financial activity
Financial and Accounting expertise ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and state and federal laws and regulations
Reviewing grant agreements and donation letters to accurately record receivables and cash receipts for restricted and non-restricted funds while adhering to document retention policies
Cross-trained in all financial matters to provide support to other team members as needed
Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential, maintaining appropriate internal controls, and ensuring accuracy in work performed
Work with leadership to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit and prepare documentation as needed for periodic audits by external auditors, tax filings, and annual surveys.

Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
3 - 5 years as a senior accountant preferably in the nonprofit sector
Possess strong detailed analytical skills, and can apply these skills to solve problems, resolve issues, and make sound decisions
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Possess strong collaborative skills to work well with both internal and external partners
Exemplifies strong customer service skills
Ability to manage time wisely and communicate timely while managing multiple projects
Preferred
3 - 5 years as a senior accountant preferably in the nonprofit sector
Project accounting experience preferred
Proficient in Excel
Abilia (MIP) experience
General knowledge of non-profit accounting principles in a Healthcare environment
