Responsibilities

Evaluating local government Emergency Management programs

Identifying weaknesses related to disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery

Assisting local governments in the development of capabilities to address and strengthen identified areas of weakness

Serving in a primary response capacity for the Division, including responding routinely to emergencies and disaster situations in the assigned area or statewide

Required

Knowledge of the Incident Command System and/or the National Incident Management System

Experience in emergency response, operations, and/or planning

Knowledge of emergency management at the federal, state, and/or local level

Knowledge of local, state, and/or federal government policies for emergency management

Experience using at least one of the following Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Access

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in directing the operations of a governmental or military agency, including one year of experience in emergency planning or response operations; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
