Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain system health and cybersecurity
Design backup processes for servers and associated data and schedule/perform regular server maintenance
Develop and manage logging and reporting requirements to support platform engineering and product requirements
Determines database architecture requirements Creates system management procedures and develops documentation of specifications, standards, and best practices.
Proactively maintains cloud and platform performance by monitoring and resolving production and application problems.
Identifies, evaluates, and recommends technologies to achieve desired cloud-scale performance.
Provide end-to-end technical support, escalation, problem resolution
Design, develop, document, and implement complex automated CI/CD infrastructures (build automation, deployment automation, test suites, developer efficiencies)
Perform incident response analysis and root cause analysis through research, and peer/vendor support
Build and maintain system and application snapshots for use with continuous delivery.
Develop software in appropriate scripting languages using agile methodologies.
Actively participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including research, prototyping, detailed design, development, technical documentation, and defect fixing.
Collaborate with the wider team on design and code reviews.
Monitor and analyze budget performance metrics related to the Platform Infrastructure department.
Handles special projects as assigned, including participating in company committees/teams
Continually builds product and institutional knowledge
Complies with all corporate policies and business practices
Has built and grown devops and site reliability teams
Establishes compliance and cybersecurity policies and best practices.

Required
Deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture, networking, and production deployment
Experience with CI/CD tools, i.e., GitHub, Gitea, Gitlab, Terraform, Jenkins, ELK Stack, Prometheus, CloudWatch etc.
Experience using appropriate tooling associated with DevOps engineering, system configuration management, and change control
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Neo4j
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, container services and registries, Helm charts
Experience with CI/CD and supporting tools such as terraform, Github actions, Gitea actions
Experience with Jenkins, Tekton, Ant, Phing and other build tools a plus
Experience using and creating API infrastructure
Expert experience with AWS is required
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related
7-10+ years’ professional DevOps experience
Advanced knowledge of system architecture documentation and best practices
Experience with managing advanced cybersecurity
Professional understanding of disaster recovery and production backup procedures
Understanding of securing/hardening of operating systems, applications, and communication channels with outside third parties
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance
Experience with system and application integration
Preferred
Experience with Google Cloud, Azure, IBM Cloud, Openstack, or Digital Ocean a plus
Experience with Kong or AWS API Gateway a plus
